Share Sunday

It's that time, I hope your had lots of beauty in your week....
In case you need a dose of good... it's time to share some sweetness...
time for Share Sunday...

This news story is from last year but it still makes my heart happy.
It's a short tale about a orphaned baby bunny and a pigeon that bond and help each other grow & heal.
Check it out, I bet it'll make you smile.

It really irritates me when people assume us vegans and vegetarians are starved or unhealthy.
Here is a great article about all the delicious beautiful foods that are actually
higher in Iron than any meat's especially good reference for my fellow veg-head XO.

If your like me and are super sensitive and are a heart-on-your-sleever, this is for you.
I myself practice all of these self-kindness tips & they all in their own way help my sensitive heart.
If you have any tips, leave a comment and tell us.

Enjoy and a Happy Happy Weekend is being wished your way XOXO

The Portage Flyer

This summer we drove out to Huntsville for some kayaking and a short jaunt on the Portage Flyer...
It's an old steam train that ran in the area from 1904 to 1959 that has been beautifully
restored and is now a historic piece of the past run all on volunteer power.
We had smiles plastered on our faces the whole time, imagining how it was used way back when...

Whiles the trek was disappointingly short, the train itself is beautiful and didn't disappoint.
I've only ever been on subway trains so I was pretty excited by the clickety-clack of the rail-line.
A dash of history is always a great jumping point into gratitude...
It really makes me appreciate all the luxuries we have at our finger tips nowadays.

Hopefully In The Studio

It's been a hard week for head-pain...I am behind again on originals I've wanted to get finished up...

But as I always say, I can only fight against the pain so much, there's only so much I can do...

So hopefully next week is better and I can start getting some of these beauties photographed & listed!

It Was A Good Summer

Everything has been put away, wrapped up and covered for another long winter...
I've been looking forward to winter for awhile now so I have no complaints really.

My heart still hurts that Teela wasn't with us, I think it always will....But my life and our yard,
doesn't so much belong to us but to the bunnies and I know for sure that they had a great summer.

The Bunnies Have An Auntie

Life with bunnies kinda makes us a little more unique,
our choices aren't widely understood (or sadly, accepted),
it's usually a "Rabbits over children Whhhatttt are you doing??
or a "You can't do that, how disappointed your parents must be, you will regret it..." blah blah blah!
BUT the bunnies & us do have one person on our side, their Auntie Maria, she's so special to us...

It means so much to have someone ask after our babies, someone who is truly interested in hearing all about them and who actually bothers to remember all their names, not just 'oh that small white one"!
Someone who acknowledges them with hugs, snuggles, Hellos & Goodbyes,
someone who stretches out to spend time with them on the floor, who gives them interest & time.
We are sad that we live far apart but we are so grateful for beloved visits, like this past summer.

Share Sunday

I have a folder on my computer where I put links that I think people should see
and that folder is getting uncontrollably big, so I thought
Hey, why not do a dedicated post, maybe a weekly one, where I share these links with you guys...
It'll vary from week to week no doubt, as I am intrigued, inspired & interested
in a multitude of things, you of course, can pick and choose to follow each link or just one or none!
Goodness knows there are enough horrible things grabbing our attention in the news everyday...
let's use this like my artwork & life with bunnies, as a good, much needed dose of whimsy and happy
(If any of these links inspire you or you want to share your thoughts do let me know XO.)

Without further ado, let's do it...our very first
"Share Sunday"...

(I am a huge fan of Kris Carr and this article of hers is insightful and gentle and I think it hit home
with me particularly because of all the losses I've gone through in my own life, especially lately,
and because of losses I see my family and friends go through too...and because there is such a
stigma to grieving and there shouldn't be.  We should all be allowed to grieve in our own unique ways because goodness knows we all have different stories and sharing our tenderness & vulnerabilities should be a beautiful connective thing, not something shied away from.

I am not on Facebook (I hate Facebook) , this video is on there but you should be able to view it
even if your like me and not a FaceBooker.  It's these crazy amazing, so beautiful but almost creepy
man-made animal/insect like creations by artist Theo Jansen
that scuttle across the beaches all by the power of wind.
Check them out, they are so amazing.

I don't know how or why someone made these but I am glad they did.
Can you imagine, just walking in the city (p.s. I dream of visiting San Francisco some day)
and falling into a field of these guys at night...what a dream that would be.
This kind of thing makes me happy because it reminds people of the importance of whimsy
and how it can inspire and simply make whimsy loving hearts happy.

Weekend Planning

Saturdays or Sundays always find me in the studios for those are my days
to try to plan out what I hope to achieve the coming week.
(Sometimes I get sucked in for more than a short time even though I try to take weekends off)

Best laid plans are usually halted and slowed by chronic head pain but that's just part of my life.
Knowing what I want to achieve helps my spirit push past the negatives
and look forward to the possibilities of each new, hopefully pain-free days!

Misa's First Time In The Yard

This was Misa Adora's very first summer with us, as we adopted her in the middle of Winter last year.
She's a very nervous young girl so I was very proud of how brave she was her first time in the yard.

Unlike all the others (except for Flynn) she seems to prefer the back deck and indoors though.
People comment about her ears, she's a half lop, one ear up and one ear down indeed, she's perfect.

Garden Extension

We didn't get as much done outside as we normally do...
BUT we did get our sweet front garden extended and I am so happy with how it turned out.
Every single plant etc in this space, I worked on and we worked on together...
Our whole neighborhood is open clean front yards etc but we like privacy & trees and greenery
so we don't care what our neighbors think of our yard, we do what makes us happy...

We took out lots of grass and put in two new beds (which we'll fill next season)
We built a little garden bed around our big front tree.
I've never been able to bear tossing our old gazebo top (because my honey made it for me)
so we moved it to the front and used it as a garden feature (I LOVE it there)
The front really has become a sanctuary as much as the backyard now & I am so grateful for that.

The Bird & The Flowers

Here's a brand new Ink Pen drawing that I just finished up.
I am really happy with how it turned out,
I feel like the bird looks pretty darn content in it's pretty flowery setting.

I'll let you know when prints have hit the shop
and when the original is up for grabs
(my studio subscribers who chose to "Keep In Touch" always get first dibs on original work).

Are You Following Me?

So I whiles I do use other social media beside my beloved blog here,
this blog space (besides my website) is where you'll get the ultimate overall view of what I am doing,
(even if I am often behind real time)...
Even if it seems blogs are on a downward trend,
I don't ever see myself leaving my blog for any other platforms....

Now and than however,
I do put extra things on Instagram that I don't post here,
(just like I now and than put photos into my Flickr albums that I don't post anywhere else).
So, that being said, maybe you should probably follow me over there too...
I hope you'll click right here and join me on IG (and Flickr), if your not already XO.

We Sure Do Miss You

I miss our little brownie Min-Min (Emmett) so so much....
I still walk into his room expecting to see his sweet little face and heart shaped nose
and my heart squeezes because every time I saw that adorable little face
I just couldn't help but squeal and be flooded with happy.
I miss everything about him, the way he loved his box forts & bivawacks and
especially his warm mitten smell and the way he would hop all over my back & legs.

His bestie Korra-Soleil ran around looking for him for quite awhile after her suddenly left us...
it really made it all that much more gut-wrenching.  He loved his Korra so much.
She misses playing leap-frog in the yard with when she goes out, she just kinda sits.
Grab and love your loved ones, fleshed, furry, feathered or scaled,
extra hard cause our time with them is so so very precious and short XO
